If you are thinking about spending holidays here, just gathering information or simple browsing, let us be the firsts welcoming you to this beautiful island.

With 3000 sun hours a year, Fuerteventura is the Canarian island closer to the African coast, from wich it is separated by only 100 Km. (From “La Punta de la Entallada” to the “Cabo de Juby” in Morocco); besides it is the second bigest Canarian island, following Tenerife. Weather conditions are very similar to Florida or Mexico that are at the same latitude, wich makes it the perfect place to spend your holidays!.

There is no other place in canarias with so big dunes and long sand beaches (more than 150). Even most of the place is stone and rock, some of these beaches are the most admirable of all Europe. 98 KM long and 30 wide aprox.

It is seen as the oldest of the Canarian islands, and its unusual relief is due to the last volcanic eruption 7000 years ago, for the time being you can consider yourself “safe”.

If you want to see some volcanic activity, you can travle to the colse island of Lanzarote. It is really worth seeing. Check our ferry timetables for more information on how to get there.

IT is also possible to go on a trip boat to the Lobos Island, only 6 Km2, located between the Fuerteventura and Lanzarote island, and get away from everything.

Water sports are very popular here. Each day, hundreads of surf, windsurf and diving lovers get to “Fuerte” and on July, every year, we have the championships of windsurf speed and slalom, at the Sotavento beach(4 Km from Costa Calma, south of the island).

There are many attractions that invite tourists to discover things of the island and it´s culture, like the Betancuria museum, Archeology and Ethnography museum, or Tefía little town to mention some examples.

Its kilometers and kilometers of sandy beaches and golden dunes, make of Fuerteventura an ideal hiding place for everybody.
